Prokritee improves women's standard of living with safe jobs, fair wages, and the goal of self‒reliance, helping mothers send their children to school to break the cycle of generational poverty. It employs women traditionally excluded from the market: widows, heads of households, rural poor, or landless without another source of income. They are experts at keeping waste out of landfills and waterways, using recycled sari, eco‒friendly dyes, and their award‒winning water‒hyacinth paper.
