Ethically handcrafted in small batches out of 100% upcycled cotton sari by environmentalist artisans with Prokritee, an organization in Bangladesh that provides jobs and skills training for women in under‒resourced communities. Prokritee improves women's standard of living with safe jobs, fair wages, and the goal of self‒reliance, helping mothers send their children to school to break the cycle of generational poverty. It employs women traditionally excluded from the market: widows, heads of households, rural poor, or landless without another source of income. They are experts at keeping waste out of landfills and waterways, repurposing sari, eco‒friendly dyes, and their award‒winning water‒hyacinth paper.
