Our Mission

Ten Thousand Villages is a global maker-to-market movement that addresses economic injustice. We do business differently, putting people and planet first.
We create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term, fair trading relationships. Our vision is that one day all artisans in developing countries will earn a fair wage, be treated with dignity and respect, and be able to live a life of quality.

Join our Village of Volunteers!

Positions include helping with daily store operations, helping on committees, and assisting at events outside the store.
Join our Village! As a nonprofit store, volunteers are crucial to our success in offering excellent customer service and in creating economic opportunities for artisans worldwide. Volunteer Opportunities with our Evanston shop In-store shifts are typically 4 hours, but can be flexible (min. 6 month commitment, 8 hrs/month) Always supported by store staff, orientation & training provided Contact Hannah at evanston@tenthousandvillages.com for more information, an online application, or to answer any questions.
